ABOUT
PRHS South Asian Student Association is the cultural club at Peachtree Ridge High School for those from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and all other South Asian Countries. However, we welcome people of all backgrounds and cultures to join us in our meetings and events focused around South Asian culture. Our meetings are the Third Wednesday of every Month. Make sure to be there for Games, Contests, and Food!
ACTIVITIES
PRHS South Asian Student Association is all about allowing everyone to experience South Asian culture. We organize charity events and programs to donate to Indian non-profit organizations. We hold meetings and events in the school itself in order to foster a sense of community for South Asians as well as those interested in South Asian culture. Finally, we hope to expand into the community of Gwinnett and really find out what we can achieve as a strong, tight-knit group.
Service
By partnering with the non-profit Organization Pratham and organizing various drives throughout the school year, we hope to create a positive impact overseas in India on behalf of the PRHS South Asian Community. Stay tuned for our newest service projects and events!
Community
At PRHS South Asian Student Association, we are dedicated to fostering a place for South Asians in PRHS to come together and feel like they belong. It is very beneficial to have a support group consisting of people who have similar cultural experiences, and SASA aims to provide each and every person at PRHS with one through our monthly meetings and out-of-school events.
Outreach
Finally, we hope to expand upon the South Asian Community of Gwinnett by organizing county-wide South Asian Cultural events in order to further expose a broad and diverse group of people to the rich cultural experiences found at events such as Diwali or Garba.
